Stony Brook's Wolfie advances in SUNY Mascot Madness

SUNY Mascot Madness | Stony Brook University

Wolfie, the mascot for Stony Brook University, has advanced to the second round of the SUNY Mascot Madness tournament. Wolfie achieved a first-round victory over Perseus the Panther from Purchase College and Jamestown Community College's duo, JJ the Jayhawk and Jax the Jaguar, with nearly 63 percent of the vote.

The next challenge for Wolfie is against Privateer Pete from Maritime College. The annual Mascot Madness competition started in 2013 and seeks to determine which State University of New York (SUNY) mascot fans believe is the best across New York.

Wolfie is aiming for his third championship title after winning in both 2022 and 2023. In those finals, he defeated Oakie the Acorn from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry.

Fans are encouraged to participate by supporting Wolfie on social media using #wolfie and #MascotMadness. Voting takes place on the SUNY Mascot Madness website throughout each round. Starting from Round 2, votes can also be cast through SUNY's Instagram Story, where they will count double for a period of 24 hours.
