Anant Yardi to speak at Stony Brook University’s 2025 convocation

Anant Yardi, founder and CEO of Yardi Systems, is set to deliver the keynote address at Stony Brook University College of Business's upcoming Convocation ceremony on May 21, 2025. The event will recognize the graduating students' achievements and include insights from a leader prominent in real estate technology.

Having led Yardi Systems for over forty years, Yardi has established the company as a global entity in real estate investment, asset and property management solutions. His keynote will touch upon themes like innovation, leadership, entrepreneurship, and community support, which reflect his career values and resonate with the College of Business's mission.

Dean of the College of Business, Haresh Gurnani, expressed: “We are honored to have Anant Yardi as our Convocation speaker. His visionary leadership and entrepreneurial journey serve as powerful inspiration for our graduates. Anant’s story underscores the importance of perseverance, strategic thinking, and technological innovation — traits we strive to instill in our students.”

Since its inception in 1984, Yardi Systems has grown with offices in various regions, including Melville, Long Island. The company, known for its software, also focuses on corporate responsibility. Initiating scholarship programs in 2023 for first-generation college students, Yardi Systems partners with institutions like Stony Brook University to reduce financial barriers for students pursuing higher education.

“This scholarship reflects our belief in the transformative power of education,” Yardi stated. “Supporting students who are paving a new path for their families aligns with our mission and values as a company.”

Yardi, a recognized industry leader, holds academic credentials from the University of California, Berkeley, and the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. His career achievements are notable with honors such as the Realcomm “Digie” Award and a place in the Multi-Housing News Hall of Fame.

Before the event, Yardi remarked, “I am delighted to have the opportunity to address the Class of 2025 at the Stony Brook College of Business. I look forward to sharing insights from my journey through a period of rapid technological change and business evolution.”

The 2025 Convocation aims to be a significant event, celebrating student achievements alongside contributions from an influential figure in business and technology.
