Four students from William Floyd High School were recognized for their artistic talents at the Suffolk County Art Leaders Association (SCALA) All-County and Senior Scholarship Show. The event, held at Babylon Town Hall, showcased the works of talented student-artists from various Suffolk County school districts.

Theresa Bianco, Fine Arts Chairperson, expressed pride in the students' achievements: “This show is a calmative event housing some of Long Island’s best young artists and giving them a beautiful space to exhibit their work,” she said. “I am very proud that our students’ work was selected for this show.”

The honored "All-County" artists included Senior Mike Amodeo, who created a pastel piece featuring a hooded owl with cards displayed in front of it. Senior Skylinn Velez designed a pastel artwork depicting a young boy in a dark room with light symbolizing hope amid despair and mental illness.

Junior Isabella Humberstone illustrated graduates slaying a dragon using pen and ink, representing the challenges of graduating high school. Senior Catie Corry, also awarded as a SCALA scholarship artist, presented three pieces including still-life pastels and personal works inspired by research on femininity and divinity.

These selections underscore the students' creativity and dedication to their craft.
