William Floyd Middle School celebrates student achievements at annual showcase night

William Floyd Middle School recently held its annual "Showcase Night," an event aimed at celebrating the work of both students and staff. 

Attendees were presented with various displays and interactive segments that highlighted classroom activities across multiple subjects, including art, English, math, music, physical education, science, social studies, and world languages.

The school’s administration was represented by assistant principals Dr. T.J. Heintz, Sonia Montalvo, John Rumpler, and principal Camelle Person. Various clubs such as the Animal Science Club, Aquaculture Crabs Club, Art Club, National Junior Honor Society, Robotics Club, School Store, Science STEP Club, Science Quiz Bowl team, Student Advisory/Council and Yearbook Club also showcased their work during the event.

Performances from the school's Jazz Band, Select Choir, Chamber Orchestra, D.R.E.A.M., Kickline, STEP Squad and Latin Dance clubs added to the evening's highlights. 

Principal Camelle Person remarked on the success of the event stating: “The crowd alone was enough to take our breath away; what a dynamic showing of talent projects and performance.” 

She praised the staff for their role in teaching students leadership skills and creativity.

Assistant principal Sonia Montalvo received special recognition from Mrs. Person for her efforts in organizing the event. 

"Showcase Night" served as a platform to acknowledge the talents within William Floyd Middle School.
