William Floyd High School hosts annual coffee house arts event

William Floyd High School | WFSD

The William Floyd High School National Art Honor Society (NAHS) and the Literary Magazine club recently organized their annual Coffee House, Living Art Display, and Art Auction event. This yearly gathering allows students and families from the community to experience the artistic talents of William Floyd student-artists and musicians.

During the event, attendees participated in a silent auction featuring student-created artwork. The evening also included live performances by students, showcasing music, poetry, and a living art display where students re-created well-known artworks. Attendees enjoyed coffee and refreshments and had the opportunity to receive free temporary henna tattoos designed by William Floyd student-artists.

This tradition is made possible through the collaboration of both NAHS and the Literary Magazine club. The NAHS, co-advised by Erika Licausi and Fine Arts Chairperson Theresa Bianco, was responsible for organizing the silent auction and living art display. Meanwhile, the Literary Magazine club, co-advised by Skylar McGarrity and Holly Mascolo, arranged for live music and poetry performances.

The event successfully raised $2,500 in scholarship funds for seniors involved in both NAHS and the Literary Magazine club.
