Suffolk County Police to host National Night Out at William Floyd High School

The Suffolk County Police Department will host National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will take place on the grounds of William Floyd High School, specifically behind Nathaniel Woodhull Elementary School where graduation ceremonies are usually held.

National Night Out is a nationwide program aimed at crime prevention through community engagement. The event encourages local residents to come together with law enforcement for an evening focused on unity and safety.

According to the organizers, “National Night Out is a nationwide initiative to fight crime by hosting community-driven, family friendly events. The goal is for local community members to participate in a fun, free event bringing neighbors and law enforcement together for a night of unity, safety, and connection! Free food sponsored by Applebees of Shirley. Child ID kits, a bounce house, police and EMS vehicle tours and more! There are free, fun activities for every member of the family!”

Sponsors include the Suffolk County Police Department 7th Precinct, Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library, Applebee's Grill + Bar and others.
