Adventureland’s Helping Hands Foundation has created an endowed scholarship for residents in the pediatric dentistry program at the School of Dental Medicine. The scholarship aims to support training in a field that addresses children’s health needs on Long Island and beyond.

Adventureland, an amusement park located in Farmingdale, New York, is operated by the Gentile family. The Helping Hands Foundation was founded in 2013 to honor Tony Gentile, Adventureland’s co-founder. Since its inception, the foundation has supported local health and education initiatives as part of its commitment to community service.

Anthony Gentile, affiliated with Sachem Dental Group, identified opportunities to expand the foundation’s impact through funding matches available from both New York State and the Simons Infinity Investment Match Challenge. He suggested that his brother Steve Gentile, who serves as president of Adventureland’s Helping Hands Foundation, participate in these programs. This action builds on Sachem Dental Group’s established relationship with the School of Dental Medicine.

Patrick Lloyd, dean of the School of Dental Medicine, said: “We are deeply grateful to Adventureland’s Helping Hands Foundation for this meaningful gift. This scholarship will support our students as they become leaders in pediatric dentistry — wherever they choose to practice — and will leave a lasting imprint on the lives of countless children and families.”
