Suffolk County Community College’s Lyceum Gallery is hosting The Show of Delights in Contemporary Art through October 25, 2025. The exhibition will open with a reception on Tuesday, September 9, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Montaukett Learning Resource Center on the Eastern Campus. An additional opening is scheduled for Saturday, September 20, from noon to 4 p.m.

Curated by artist and curator Annemarie Waugh, the exhibition features work from twelve artists including Jeremy Dennis, Sue Beyer, and Stephanie Dinkins. According to organizers, the show takes inspiration from Ross Gay’s The Book of Delights as well as other literary works such as World of Wonders: In Praise of Fireflies, Whale Sharks, and Other Astonishments by Aimee Nezhukumatathil; The Comfort of Crow: A Backyard Year by Margaret Renkl; and The Path to Kindness: Poems of Connection and Joy by James Crews. Organizers say that “the show invites audiences to reconnect with beauty, community, and the joy of close observation.”

Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and closed on weekends except for the special Saturday viewing on September 20.

Suffolk County Community College is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system and enrolls more than 26,000 students in over one hundred degree and certificate programs.
