Giselle Gerardi, an assistant professor at Stony Brook University School of Nursing, has received the Nurse of Excellence Award from the Nassau-Suffolk Hospital Council. The award, presented on September 30, recognizes nurses for exceptional leadership and clinical practice at member hospitals within the council.

Each year, a nurse from every member hospital is nominated for this recognition. Gerardi is now the third faculty member in a row from Stony Brook University School of Nursing to earn this honor. Previous recipients include Clinical Associate Professors Rewa Thompson in 2024 and Maria Milazzo in 2023.

“I am truly honored to have been nominated for this award by my colleagues, and deeply grateful to be selected as a recipient of the Nassau-Suffolk Excellence in Nursing Award,” said Gerardi. “It’s gratifying to work in an environment that actively supports health equity and champions diversity in our profession.”
