Suffolk County Community College will host a solo exhibition by artist Fred Fleisher at the Flecker Gallery on its Ammerman Campus in Selden. The show, titled "Anthems, Highways, & Cosmic Roadtrips," will be open to the public from November 13 through December 18, 2025.

The event begins with an Artist Talk scheduled for Thursday, November 13 at 2:00 p.m., followed by an opening reception that runs until 5:30 p.m. Admission is free and light refreshments will be provided.

Fred Fleisher is a Brooklyn-based contemporary artist and U.S. Army veteran whose recent paintings feature a mix of pop culture imagery and surreal landscapes. According to the announcement, his works "blur the line between fantasy and reality" and invite viewers into imaginative scenes inspired by American road trips.

Fleisher's background includes work in painting, sculpture, installation, and time-based media. He is currently an Associate Professor of Art at SUNY Old Westbury and holds degrees from Queens College and Penn State University. His art has been displayed both nationally and internationally in cities such as Manhattan, Brooklyn, Berlin, Chicago, and Hudson (NY). In addition to solo exhibitions, he has participated in group shows and served as lead curator for the SPRING/BREAK Art Show in Los Angeles.

An exhibition catalog featuring an essay by Chris Bors will be available during the show.

The gallery is open Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or by appointment. For further information about the exhibition or Suffolk County Community College’s programs serving over 26,000 students across more than 100 degree and certificate offerings, contact the Flecker Gallery at (631) 451-4093 or visit www.sunysuffolk.edu.
