William Floyd High School sets cap and gown ordering dates for graduating seniors

Dr. Keith Fasciana, Principal | William Floyd School District

William Floyd High School has announced the schedule for seniors to order their graduation caps, gowns, and tassels for the upcoming commencement ceremony on June 27, 2026. Representatives from Herff Jones, Inc. will be present at the school on January 12 and 13, 2026 to measure students and take orders during lunch periods in the senior cafeteria hallway.

These two days are the only opportunity for students to place their orders. If a student is absent on those dates, arrangements should be made with a classmate to submit the order. It is recommended that classmates have information about the absent student's height and weight.

The graduation package includes a cap, gown, and tassel. The cost of the package is $34.00, which must be paid at the time of ordering by cash or money order payable to Herff Jones, Inc. Checks will not be accepted and no refunds will be issued for ordered items. Additional graduation items can also be purchased.

Packages will be distributed during graduation rehearsal in June. Only students wearing the official cap and gown will be allowed to participate in commencement exercises.

Lisa M. Pisano, Assistant Principal at William Floyd High School, stated: "Since only those seniors wearing the appropriate cap and gown will be permitted to participate in the graduation ceremony, we would appreciate your assistance in ensuring that your son or daughter orders on January 12th and January 13th. Also, please encourage your child to make certain he/she satisfactorily completes all remaining academic graduation requirements. It would be unfortunate to lose eligibility for graduation during the final months of the year."

Pisano also noted: "Please be advised that receipt of this letter does not guarantee your child’s participation in the graduation ceremony. Participation is contingent upon remaining in good standing throughout the year."

For questions regarding ordering or eligibility requirements, families are encouraged to contact William Floyd High School at 874-1177.
