Nathaniel Woodhull Elementary School held its third annual Woodhull-Giving celebration, an event aimed at fostering gratitude and community spirit among students, staff, and families. The initiative was organized by the student council under the guidance of Mrs. Catania, in partnership with Dr. Murillo, Mrs. Peralta, and a mental health team consisting of Ms. O’Keife, Mrs. Ciolino, Mrs. Teller, and Dr. Hayes.
The event included food donations that were made available at community share tables for attendees. The Suffolk County Police Department contributed by donating 30 complete Thanksgiving meals to support families from the school.
Attendees participated in activities such as crafts, dancing, and using a bounce house during the evening’s program. Reflecting on the event’s impact, Dr. Murillo said, “I am truly thankful for the collective spirit that defines our school community – our students, teachers, staff, families, and all who support us. Woodhull continues to be a special place where people come together, lift one another up, and celebrate what it means to be a united community. Every participant helped bring the true meaning of gratitude to life.”
