Former board member Frank Campbell remembered for years of service

Francis "Frank" Campbell, a former trustee, vice president, and president of the William Floyd Board of Education, has died. Campbell served on the school board from 1971 to 1977. He was vice president from 1972 to 1973 and president from 1973 to 1977.

Campbell’s leadership coincided with a period of growing enrollment in the district. To address the need for more classroom space, three new schools were approved and built during his time on the board: Tangier Smith Elementary School, Moriches Elementary School—which opened in 1975—and William Paca Middle School, which began operating in 1976.

The William Floyd School District expressed appreciation for Campbell's service and extended condolences to his family and friends. “The William Floyd School District is grateful for Mr. Campbell’s many years of dedicated service to our schools and community, and we offer condolences to Mr. Campbell’s family and friends during this difficult time.”
