Stony Brook Hosted Conference Promoting Inclusive Opportunities for People Living With Disabilities
The second annual Inclusion Done Right! (IDR!) Conference convened a diverse group of participants at Stony Brook University to discuss and advance practices that promote inclusion, participation, and accessibility. Held on October 18 at the Charles B. Wang Center Theater, the event was organized by Stony Brook's School of Health Professions and the Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Intercultural Initiatives (DI3), with support from the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) and sponsorship from Bethpage Federal Credit Union.

A class-action lawsuit has been filed against Under Armour, Inc., alleging deceptive pricing practices. Plaintiff Linda Rappaport filed the complaint on October 29 which claims that Under Armour misled consumers with false discount schemes at its Factory outlets and online store.

On October 30, a former employee filed a lawsuit against Antech Diagnostics, alleging wrongful termination and retaliation after raising concerns about illegal practices in the workplace. Plaintiff Samantha Perez's lawsuit describes a series of incidents during her time as an office manager at the company.

On Nov. 8, the Center Moriches School District held its annual Walk of Heroes,inviting local veterans to be honored by students and staff. High school and middle schoolstudents first lined the halls of their building, waving American flags as the veterans andtheir family members proudly marched through. The walk then made its way to ClaytonHuey Elementary School, ending with a breakfast for guests. Bring a Veteran to School Event at Bellport Middle
During the event, students met with and learned more about local veterans, who visited their classrooms to discuss their time in the military and their lives as civilians.
Bellport Football Team Raised Resources to Battle Cancer
To garner the funds, the team handed out flyers in school and to family and friends requesting donations. In the past 12 years, the team has raised and donated over $29,000.
Bayport-Blue Point Students and Staff Honor Veterans
The assembly featured a scripted skit, telling the story of how Veterans Day became an official holiday. A poem by Susan Smith titled, "We Honor You Today," was read aloud, followed by the second grade classes' performance of "The Poppy Song."
