Their star pitcher shined as bright as he ever has in a complete game masterpiece. RIghty Evan Kay has been stellar all season and capped off the historical year with one of the best games of his career. Evan Kay is known as one of the best pitchers in Suffolk County history and putting a final championship on that resume is just a cherry on top. Kay is the defending Suffolk Pitcher of the Year and might have had an even better season this year. He has pitched 60 straight scoreless innings and finished with 4 wins and even threw in a save this season for good measure.

Aiello Leads Bayport-Blue Point To The Title
The boys beat Shoreham-Wading River by a 9-8 final score. Dan Aiello scored the deciding and game-winning goal with under 2 minutes left in the game to seal the victory. Aiello had a huge day with 3 goals and 1 assist to lead the way. But, it was hardly a one man show. Ben Morris added 1 goal and 2 assists, Maclin Keyser had two goals and one assist, Mikey Luce had a goal and an assist while Connor Curran and Ryan Hannaford chipped in one goal apiece.
The Kings of Suffolk Baseball
The Kingmen completed a fantastic season by beating Bayport-Blue Point 7-1 in the finals. Kings Park was led by their ace Hunter Colagrande, who was dazzling all season long. With the win Colagrande improved to 9-0 on the season and gave the Kingsmen their first title since 2001 and their seventh county title. This wasn't only a dominant pitching performance as KIngs Park had plenty of offensive help. Giuseppe Buffolino went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored while Brandon Hauk, Anthony Lobasso and Dylan Frers each went 2-for-3 with an RBI. The House of Representatives recently passed a bill to prevent non-citizens, both illegal and legal, from voting in District of Columbia (DC) elections.The House bill passed with strong bipartisan support by a vote of 262-143. Fifty-two Democrats joined the Republican majority in favor of keeping voting rights exclusive to American citizens.In 2022, the District of Columbia Council passed a local law to allow illegal immigrants to vote in their locally based elections.."Allowing noncitizens—including illegal aliens and foreign agents—to vote in elections dilutes the voting power of the citizen voter," said bill sponsor Rep. 225,000 Flags Placed at Calverton National Cemetery
An estimated 5,000 volunteers were on hand to place American flags on graves at Calverton National Cemetery. A wide range of Veterans Service Organizations, Scout groups, volunteers, and families placed an estimated 225,000 flags on gravesites across the cemetery. These flags will remain there until June 1st, 2024. Larger flags now line the "Avenue of Flags." Those will be on display in and around the cemetery until June 9th, 2024.

Eastport-South Manor Appoints New Directors
The Eastport-South Manor Central School District announced that Stacey Chiavola and Patrick Hayes have been appointed director of world languages, ENL and FLES and director of health, physical education and Athletics, respectively, for the 2024-2025 school year. Mrs. Chiavola has worked at Dayton Avenue School as a grade 3-6 English as a New Language teacher since 2015. Prior to becoming and ENL teacher, Mrs. Chiavola served as a tenured fifth grade teacher.
