William Floyd High School senior Scott Eriksen, a forward on the boys’ varsity soccer team, has been named among the Top 100 boys’ varsity soccer players for the fall 2024 season by Newsday.

In its recognition of Eriksen, Newsday wrote, “The third-year starter has size, strength, speed and the ability to use either foot. Eriksen scored 11 goals as a junior.” This season, Eriksen has already netted four goals, including a notable goal in a tie against the nationally-ranked Brentwood team.

The Colonials, led by head coach Paul Paniccia, aim to secure their 10th consecutive playoff appearance and pursue a deep run in the tournament. They have started strong this season with a record of 3-0-1 (1-0-1 in League I). Their victories include wins over Bellport (4-0), Longwood (2-0), North Babylon (2-1), and a tie with Brentwood (2-2). The team's next game is scheduled at Patchogue Medford on Friday, September 13, followed by a home match against Syosset on Saturday, September 14.
