William Floyd School District announces policy on student information disclosure

The William Floyd School District has issued a notification regarding the release of student information under the No Child Left Behind Act. According to §9528 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (the “ESEA”) (20 U.S.C. §7908), as amended by the No Child Left Behind Act, the district is required to disclose, upon request, the names, addresses, and telephone listings of high school students to military recruiters.

The district must also inform parents of their right to request that this information not be released without prior written parental or student consent. Parents or students who wish to exercise this option must sign and return a form to their guidance counselor or assistant principal no later than October 24, 2024.
