Staller Center hosts annual Messiah sing-along on December 8

Members of the University Orchestra, vocal soloists, and conductors will perform Handel’s Messiah at Stony Brook's Staller Center on December 8. The event will begin with a short preconcert at 2:45 pm featuring the University Orchestra’s Brass and Percussion Ensemble and a chamber orchestra playing music by Telemann and Peter Warlock.

The performance is free to attend. Audience members are invited to sing along with choruses from Part One, "Worthy is the Lamb/Amen," and the "Hallelujah Chorus." Vocal scores can be purchased for $10 cash at the door.

Soloists include Jeanai La Vita, Mheco Manlangit, Michaela Larsen, Dylan Turicek, and guest vocalist Christopher Judge. Conductors for the event are Susan Deaver, Randall Keith Horton, Jeanai La Vita, Alicja Paruch, Hanbo Wang, and Shiqi Yang. Fjord Deda will perform as the solo trumpet in “the trumpet shall sound.”
