Sachem's Athletic Directors Gary Beutel and Phil Torregrossa took to social media this week to share the progress that has been done to their new state of the art softball field.

The new field was voted on and approved in May 2024 and will be a turf softball field at Sachem East and Sachem North.

The projections have the fields to be completed in the fall. Beutel explained that the facilities are going in and working with Landtek they have now poured cement, laid the gravel and started to put in the fences. He said that the project will be "very similar to our baseball complexes that we put in two years ago." he went on to state his excitement by saying "everything will be state of the art and we are really excited for the kids in the community."

Torregrossa said that the project is now on week seven and were a little further along than the Sachem North complex. They have already begun to work on the bleachers behind home plate, which is a special feature that not many high schools have locally.

He is projecting the project to be completed sometime in late September or early October. The turf should start to be laid down in about two weeks.
