Congressman Lalota is completing his first term as a largely inconsequential Congressman whose primary accomplishment is getting a neighboring Congressional seat flipped to the Democrats, thereby nullifying his own vote. Despite that, and a voting record that looks like that of a captured establishment asset, the South Shore Press strongly believes that Congressman Lalota is a vastly superior alternative to his Democrat opponent John Avlon. Ronkonkoma man pleads guilty to manslaughter for double homicide
Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced that Brian Cordovano, a 50-year-old resident of Ronkonkoma, has pleaded guilty to two counts of manslaughter in the first degree and other related charges. The charges stem from the deaths of Ian Saalfield, 45, of Lake Grove, and Robert Julian, 59, of Selden in April 2022.

Sue Hersh posthumously awarded outstanding educator by alumni association
Sue Hersh, a former art teacher at William Floyd High School, has been honored posthumously as the 2024 William Floyd Alumni Association Outstanding Educator. Born in 1948 in Miller Place, New York, Hersh pursued her education at Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia and later earned a master's degree in social work from Stony Brook University.
Town clerk's mobile office tour visits local library
On October 3, Brookhaven Town Clerk Kevin LaValle visited the Emma S. Clark Memorial Library in East Setauket as part of his "Mobile Office" initiative. This program is designed to facilitate interactions between residents and the Town Clerk, allowing them to have their questions answered and obtain essential information about the Town of Brookhaven.
