A Mea Culpa or Another Trump Hit Piece?

This past Friday, I challenged myself to sit through MSNBC's latest documentary, produced by Rachel Maddow, featuring former GOP provocateur Lev Parnas. My initial concern was that simply tuning into the network might subject me to intellectual atrophy, a condition seemingly afflicting Maddow's and Joy Reid's followers. But, much to my surprise, I emerged unscathed. What I endured, however, was two hours of what can best be described as an extended anti-Trump campaign ad—an emotive portrayal of a man eager to paint himself as both the victim and penitent.

Can President Trump Flip NYS Red?

This past week, Long Island played host to one of the largest political events it has ever seen. A rally for former President Donald Trump packed the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum with some 16,000 attendees seated inside, while an estimated 50,000 more filled the overflow areas outside the venue. The event went forward despite speculation following the second reported assassination attempt on Trump's life. But as many have noted, Trump is a showman at heart, and, in true theatrical fashion, "the show must go on." Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman assured the public that the coliseum would be "the safest place in America" during Trump's visit.

Surreal Moments

My press credentials were actually accepted first out of the entire news team. I joked that the Trump team must have seen my social media in support of him, that's why I was approved first, and a part of me still wants to believe that. You see I have taken many knocks for being a supporter of Trump, one of his earliest that I know in fact, and I have never wavered in that support so this was going to be a special event.

Meng Li advances electron microscopy research at Brookhaven National Laboratory

Materials scientist Meng Li is a staff scientist in the Electron Microscopy group at the Center for Functional Nanomaterials (CFN), a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science user facility at DOE’s Brookhaven National Laboratory, which she joined last year. Li divides her time between assisting users with in situ experiments at CFN’s advanced transmission electron microscopes (TEMs) and conducting her own research. Her interests include in situ TEM studies of corrosion and catalysis and developing new microscopy instrumentation and experimental tools.
